How Does FloodGuard Work

On August 11, 2024, Gurugram experienced significant rainfall, recording 124.4 mm, which led to heavy flooding in the region. After analyzing the temperature and humidity data for Gurugram in August on the Meteum website, I found that the humidity percentage on the 11th was 74%. Given that this level of humidity contributed to flooding in Gurugram’s Cyber City area, I customized the code for FloodGuard. The modification ensures that if humidity levels exceed 74% at any time, a buzzer will sound to alert residents about the humidity levels that have previously been associated with flood conditions caused by rainfall.
